The ball is a digitally amplified subwoofer which combines unique design with high quality audio for reproducing precise and deep bass. The ball is easy placeable and for maximum sound experience we recommend you to experiment to find the best place in your listening room for getting the optimal sound from the ball. Please note that the bass will seem louder when the ball is placed in a corner or close to a wall than if it stands alone. We created the ball specially for use with the amp, the dock and v dock together with a pair of Minipod, the drop or Micropod SE. Before turning the power on, it is important that all connections between your components have been completed. Also note! This apparatus should only be cleaned with a lint free dust cloth. Never use cleaning detergents. Do not sit on the ball! 2 UK The ball Safety Instructions Warning - To reduce the risk of fire or shock, do not expose this appliance to rain or moisture. Caution - To reduce the risk of fire or shack, do not remove the cover, or back. No user serviceable parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel. Caution - To prevent electric shock, match wide blade of plug to wide slot, fully insert. The lightning Flash with arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to the presence of un-insulated dangerous voltage within the product's enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electrical shock to persons. The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance Read Instructions All the safety and operating instructions should be read before the appliance is operated. Retain Instructions The safety and operating instructions should be adhered to. Heed Warnings All the warnings on the appliance and in the operating instructions should be adhered to. Follow Instructions All operating and use instructions should be followed. Water and Moisture The appliance should not be used near water. For example, near a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, in a wet basement, or near a swimming pool, etc. Ventilation The appliance should be situated so that it's location or position does not interfere with its proper ventilation. Power Cord Protection Power supply cords should be routed so that they are not likely to be walked an or pinched by items placed on or against them, paying particular attention to cards at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the appliance. Cleaning The appliance should be cleaned only as recommended by the manufacturer. Power Lines An outdoor antenna should be located away from power lines. Non-Use Periods The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from the outlet when left unused for long periods of time. Object and Liquid Entry Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into the enclosure through openings. Damage Requiring Service The appliance should be serviced by qualified personnel when: a) the power supply cord or the plug has been damaged: b) objects have fallen, or liquid spilled into the appliance: c) the appliance has been exposed to rain: d) the appliance does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance: or e) the appliance has been dropped, f) the enclosure damaged. After 10-15 minutes without signal the ball will go in standby mode/ LED Blue light les bright. 4 UK The ball The ball bottom panel Connect the ball to your amplifier through the line input sockets. We recommend to adjust the volume of the ball to the "overall sound" of your stereo set- up while listening to a favorite track. The subvolume will follow when you turn up/down for the volume on your amplifier. The crossover frequency should be adjusted to the point where the bass of your front speakers are "giving up". The more precise you are able to find this point which can be for example around 80 Hz ­ the more precise the overall sound will be. The phase function allow you to "reverse" the phase of the subwoofer's output signal for correcting any out of phase between the ball and your frontspeakers/amplifier. You should experiment with the position of the switch while listening to music. The position which sounds best is the correct one. Wasser und Feuchtigkeit Das Gerät sollte nicht in der Nähe von Wasser benutzt werden (z.B. in der Nähe einer Badewanne, eines Spülbeckens, eines Waschbeckens, in einem nassen und feuchten Keller oder in der Nähe eines Swimmingpools etc.) Lüftung Das Gerät so aufstellen, dass es ausreichender Belüftung ausgesetzt ist. Das Gerät sollte z.B. nicht im Sofa, auf dem Bett, einem Teppich oder auf ähnlichen Oberflächen aufgestellt werden, die die Lüftungsöffnungen des Geräts blockieren können. Überhitzung Das Gerät nicht in der Nähe von Heizquellen wie z.B. Heizkörper, Brennöfen o.ä. aufstellen, die Hitze ausstrahlen können. Stromanschluss Das Gerät nur an eine Stromquelle von dem in der Bedienungsanleitung oder auf dem Gerät angegebenen Typ anschließen. Erdung und Polarisation Bitte beachten, dass die Erdung oder die Polarisation des Geräts nicht verändert werden. Schutz des Stromkabels Das Stromkabel so verlegen, dass niemand darauf tritt, und dass das Kabel nicht durch oder gegen Gegenstände eingeklemmt wird. Achten Sie besonders auf die Kabelstecker, Steckdosen, Verlängerungskabel und auf die Stelle, an der das Kabel aus dem Gerät tritt. Reinigung Das Gerät nur entsprechend den Empfehlungen des Herstellers reinigen. Hochspannung Antennen im Außenbereich nicht in der Nähe von Hochspannung anbringen. Längere Stillstandzeiten Den Stromkabel aus der Steckdose ziehen, wenn das Gerät längere Zeit nicht in Gebrauch ist. Schäden durch Gegenstände und Flüssigkeit Es sollte darauf geachtet werden, dass keine Flüssigkeit durch die Öffnungen des Geräts fließt und dass keine Gegenstände auf das Gerät herabfallen können. Behebung von Schäden Das Gerät nur von qualifiziertem Fachpersonal reparieren lassen, falls: a) Das Stromkabel oder der Stecker beschädigt wurden: b) Gegenstände oder Flüssigkeiten auf/in das Gerät gefallen/geflossen sind: c) Das Gerät Regen ausgesetzt gewesen ist: d) Das Gerät nicht wie bisher funktioniert oder eine eindeutige Leistungsänderung eintritt: e) Das Gerät abgefallen ist, oder Abdeckungen beschädigt worden sind. Reparatur/Wartung Der Benutzer sollte nicht versuchen, das Gerät über die in der Bedienungsanleitung angeführten Empfehlungen hinaus zu warten. Jede sonstige Wartung sollte qualifiziertem Personal überlassen werden. Produktwartung Falls Ihr Gerät nicht korrekt funktioniert, sollten Sie sich mit Ihrem Händler in Verbindung setzen, bei dem Sie das Gerät gekauft haben.
